Building damage investigation in western India earthquake

[2001 West India Earthquake Building Damage Survey]

We conducted a damage survey of building structures in the "Western Indid Earthquake" that occurred at 8:46 am local time on January 26,2001.

Damage investigation in the Hyogo-ken Nanbu Earthquake

The "Hyogo-ken Nanbu Earthquake" that occurred in the early morning of January 17, 1995 claimed many lives and caused enormous damage to various places. For four days from February 24th to 27th, 1995, our research team was commissioned by the Building Earthquake Investigation Committee of the Housing Bureau of the Ministry of Construc- tion, and Ashiya was part of the "Emergency Investigation of Buildings Damaged by the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake". We conducted a damage survey of building structures from the city to Sannomiya, Chuo-ku, Kobe and Higashinada-ku. The members of this research team are Professor Akio Ikeda, Professor Mitsuharu Kurata, Professor Koji Kuroda, Associate Professor Masahiro Chiba, and Associate Professor Kazushige Asato.
